and Bootloaders. We have extensive experience with OCTEON cpu from Cavium Networks.
We
have ported, improved and currently support FreeBSD, Linux,
U-Boot, Redboot etc. on these CPUs.
These
support SMP with o32, n64 & n32 ABIs. Both static &
dynamically linked executables.
Ports of Apache & MySQL are available for benchmarking and
testing purposes.
OCTEON Mips64 CPUs:
FreeBSD and Linux ports were fine-tuned and optimized
to make the best performing use of key features of the Octeon.
The hardware accelerators and other offload techniques were
used to improve the performance of these OS on OCTEON CPUs.
SMP FreeBSD utilizing multiple cores is fully functional on
Octoen CN3860.
Due to popular BSD license, wide platform support and superior
performance, Octeon FreeBSD port is an ideal choice for OEMs
seeking to obtain the benefits of an open source operating system
without the costs and licensing issues of the GPL license. Our
Octeon FreeBSD port is being used today by ODM customers.

before release to verify, Standards support, Reliability &
Performance.
